Our Mission

This Association is dedicated to making our community better and speaking on our behalf on a variety of issues including, municipal affairs, zoning, recreation and education. Your membership and continuing support is essential. We play an important role by sponsoring and supporting the following activities:

• Publishing and delivering the ‘Henry Farmer Newsletter’ quarterly

• Henry Farm web site: www.henryfarm.ca

• Neighbourhood Watch

• Liaison with the City on improvements to the park – lighting, water fountain, trees and playgrounds

• Intervening on Development Issues, i.e.

  • Don Mills/Sheppard Parkway Forest

  • Bloorview site/ Sheppard Ave

  • Civitan Arena proposal

  • Sheppard and Don Mills Light Rail Transit Lines

  • Rusty Rail/Sheppard and Leslie

• All Candidates’ Meetings for Municipal, Provincial & Federal Elections

• Responsible for the erection of the Berm and Noise Barrier on HWY 401

• Signage of community entrance off Sheppard Ave.

• Traffic control, speed and traffic light issues

• Purchasing boards and maintenance of the ice rink at Shaughnessy P.S.

• Support of the Henry Farm Tennis Club to ensure washroom access for all park users and sponsorship of needy children for tennis activities

• A source of ‘seed money’ to support programs for youth within the community

• Front Garden Beautification Contests

• Movie and Dinner Night in January

• The Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Evening in April

• Wheels Sale each April

• Neighbours’ Night Out and Concert in the Park Evening in June

• The Henry Farm Golf Tournament each September
